The Quality Chess Puzzle Book $17.84 When I decided to make a chess puzzle book I had many ideas in mind: The puzzles should be challenging but not so difficult that a chessboard is needed they can be solved on the train, plane or wherever you happen to be when you have a few minutes to spare. The positions should be educational with some instructive point to the solution. I have generally stuck to that, but I also selected many puzzles just because they were fun. The positions are all from fairly recent games, so that the reader will not have seen them before in older puzzle books. The Ultimate Chess Puzzle Book $16.27 It is generally agreed that one of the best ways for a chess-player to improve is by constant practice and testing. The puzzles in this book provide a wealth of positions to test every facet of the reader’s tactical skills, and have been selected by analyzing games new and old in search of original puzzle positions (rather than simply trawling through previous puzzle books as is all too often the case). It is therefore very unlikely that even seasoned solvers will recognize many of these positions! |

Chess Fundamentals $10.4 J.R. Capablanca was a World Chess Champion and one of the greatest players in chess history, yet he wrote very little about the game. Chess Fundamentals, though normally for the beginning player, contains valuable insights that will benefit players at all levels of understanding, including masters. Capablanca explains: -How to obtain and nurture a passed pawn-How to get and keep the initiative-Cardinal rules for rook and pawn endings-How to attack using knight as the main force-How to cut off enemy pieces Chess Fundamentals is one of the jewels of chess literature. |
